Chad Fleming

Hello, my name is Chad Fleming. I have been involved with Camp Shocco for the Deaf since 1998 as a camp counselor. One reason I continue to return each year is because I want to share God’s Word to each camper and lead them to know that accepting Jesus is the way to Heaven as stated in John 14:6. Jesus says “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me.” Another reason I have enjoyed working with the camp staff for many years. Now, I am honored to become the Camp Director. I have learned from the best, Ricky Milford who has served as Camp Director for 20 years. I am humbled to walk in his footstep. Several counselors that I have picked were campers themselves. I am thrilled that we have a wonderful camp staff that is ready to “Splash” God’s Word to the campers this summer. Our Camp Theme is “Splash Blast.”  Come and join us!

Adam Schrimsher

My name is Adam Schrimsher and this is my story where I grew up in the place where there are Deaf people and in a Christian environment, that is Camp Shocco Spring for the Deaf. Every summer, when it is time for summer camp and I always excited to go to Camp Shocco because it is like my home camp where I can be away from home for a week and just enjoy being around Christian people and being with people like me. The first time I went there, I was so nervous because it was my first time to be away from home and I have had a counselor that calmed me down and in the end of the week, it was time to go home, I didn’t want to go because I was have a lot of fun and learned a lot of things about God. After I told my mother that I love it, I started go there every summer all the way through of my last summer before my senior year of high school. I am very familiar with the camp site and people there. I am excited to be part of the staff of Camp Shocco Spring for the Deaf. I am looking forward to it!

Heath's FamilyMy name is Heath Rager. I first became involved with Camp Shocco for the Deaf as a camper when Ricky Milford first set it up. I was thankful God’s plan for me was to have Vicki Milford, Ricky’s wife, as my teacher at ASD. That’s how I met Ricky and Vicki Milford. They invited me to go to their church, VBS, and camp to learn about GOD when I was young. Camp was a very wonderful place for me to learn a lot about GOD and a good place to make better friends. It felt like a real family to me. I have attended every summer as a camper and never missed. I enjoyed learning about GOD with staff and friends. There are many good things you can do at camp: swimming, play sports, riding boats, hang out with friends/staff, study GOD’s WORDS, get ice cream from Ice Cream Man, all you can eat at cafe, etc. Also, I volunteered as a children’s counselor in 2006, then as a youth counselor in 2008. So it will be my third time to volunteer as counselor. All campers can feel free to ask me anything about GOD and I would be glad to talk to you about it at camp. I can’t wait to see all of you and have a BLAST TIME!!! GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME SO REMEMBER THAT!!!
